Description
The Common Camas, native to the State of Washington, is one of the many beautiful wildflowers that appears in mid Spring. It was once as prolific as the Bluebells in the British Isles.
The Native Peoples of the NW used the edible roots for food.
We have a number of these plants that bloom annually at our Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually NWR, and are spreading.
This is a photograph that has been digitally manipulated for a more painterly effect and enhancement of the flowers beauty.
