Description
Every year at our National Wildlife Refuge we celebrate the Watershed Festival.
Free to the public it is always popular, rain or shine.
I was tending the 'windsock' booth where our visitors would use watercolor paints to decorate the paper windsock salmon.
It was wonderful to watch the children and adults so intent on their creative process and then joyfully walk off with their 'sock' tied to a branch, fluttering and weaving in the breeze. The the branches were gleaned from our forest by our Americorps crew. Yes, we recycle.
A friend's 7-year-old daughter was totally absorbed in the creative magic of color and patterns that flowed from her brush onto her windsock project when I took this photograph.
Portrait digitally enhanced for depth.
Sometimes the light in a BW can be more exciting than color.

Thank you very much, Kim. The color version was not half as exciting as the BW.
