Artist's Description

Photo art created from two of my Black-tailed Deer photographs.
I like the mystery of the forest, and how often we almost miss seeing the deer as it stands very quietly amongst the trees, just watching.

Here I have taken advantage of the doe's seemingly flirtatious look to create this composite, where the buck checks the shrubbery.

We get to witness some tense moments during rutting season, where the sound of the chase precedes the couple of Black-tails in the buck's effort to persuade the doe to give in to his exciting plan for togetherness.

i'ina Van Lawick My love has always been Nature. Photography started for me when my grandmother gave me an ancient Kodak Box Camera when I was 11 years old. In Art School Photography was an important elective for me besides my Major in Metalsmithing. Now that Carpal Tunnel to both wrists nixed my ability to work with metal I have taken up photography again after being introduced to the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge near Olympia, WA; and consequently, digital photography. What a find.
