Description
The original photograph was taken a number of years ago on land where once these old cedar trees flourished in their magnificence.
Before the lumber barons moved among their presence.
The energy in this space of what were once powerful creations of nature is still palpable, and the colors are breath-taking.
Walking into this off-the-beaten path area is like being embraced by nature's own presence of infinite mystery.
In this image I honor their existence.
This remnant of old forest is located in a national park in WA.
Digitally created from two photographs and enhanced to bring out the texture of the trees..

Beautiful image and sentiment.
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you very much, Martin. There are huge old remnants like this throughout forests here in WA. I remember reading Thoreau's description of the size of the ancient trees when he hiked through the forests in Maine.

I can hear the footsteps of the all those who have gone before and a hushed, respectful reverence for the forest in this piece I'Ina. It cuts right through to my being. L/F
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Wow, Joy! Exactly the feeling this space embraced me with while standing there. Very spiritual.
