Description
Looking out from one of the many WWII buildings of Fort Flagler in WA at day break. They still stand strong and have been "recycled" as dorms and meeting places for conferences and workshops. In the background one gets a glimpse of the Strait of Juan de Fuca through which ships enter Puget Sound.
The photo was taken through one of the windows of the Ranger's house where I stayed the week-end with a friend who is a Volunteer at Fort Flagler.
There is much wildlife here for birders, besides our population of foxes, coyotes, and deer which graze the fields in early morning and near twilight. Several pair of Bald Eagles nest here.

Love the feel of this photo. It makes me want to explore this glimpse of the "outside" world. What surprises await!
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you, Shannon. I love old windows. Unfortunately these are being replaced as they are not draft-proof.
