Description
The Tree Swallows have been busy at their nesting boxes and other nesting sites they have found - like holes in the outer walls that allow them to nest between the 2X4's that hold up the walls.
Lovely little birds, they have a sweet and cheerful little voice when they sit in the trees or on their nesting boxes chattering to each other.
This one loves to perch on the barn window. Since they usually come back to a favorite perch it is a matter of waiting patiently to photograph them.

Love the wonderful juxtaposition of the composition, l'ina; the brightly coloured bird , in its soft luxurious plumage, against the faded old wall that has come to the end of its glory days - beautiful textures all around :))
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you, Connie. I was drawn by the pattern and shapes against the bird's glorious body.
