Description
This morning I woke up with a facsimile of this image, and the words to the tune of "Where have all the flowers gone", all buzzing around in my head.
Not sure about the background, the fingerprint jumped out at me as I was browsing through my photo files. A great metaphor, I felt, for this very painful subject.

Thank you very much, Roe. Yes, what are we teaching the children of the world?!!
Pennie McCracken - Endless Skys
This is powerful creative artwork I'ina and so profound. Amazing visual interpretation of something that should just not exist. l.f
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you very much, Pennie. And it continues. When will those with such power and authority start coming from the heart?!
Sunil Kapadia
Amazing interpretation. So creative. LF
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you, Sunil. If we could just end this type of treatment to our fellow citizens of this planet. Especially the little ones.
ROSELYNNE BROUSSARD
Thank you for this powerful image/statement of truth :)) Such a sad sad time in this world.
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you, Roselynne, for your encouraging words. Painful it is indeed to have to witness all this even from the safety of our own homes. Being mothers it is especially horrifying to know this is possible in our own country still.
Judi Dressler
A powerful image, I'ina! Well done... I cannot believe what is going on in this country nowadays... :( l/f
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you, Judi. Yes, but I do have faith that it will make us look at the changes we truly want to make in how we treat our global family and what it is we truly value about being human, our place in the world, and coming from compassion in all that we do.

Back to witness this again and note that the problem has not been addressed, the solution not apparent and the children ....yikes...we need a full accounting of just where they are now!
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Yes, the children is what it is all about, the future of our world. I don't dare think hardly about the upcoming elections, but definitely will vote. Shameful. But enough said, already.
Karen Adams
Bless you for this image! What a shameful thing being done in our name! This work is powerful and we can't stop protesting this until it is stopped! The fingerprint is a great symbol showing that this is how we will be identified - by our actions! and that each of these people are actual living breathing feeling human beings! I LOVE this inspired artwork! . . . . . . vft
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Karen, thank you hugely for your appreciation of what I have put out there with this image for people to see and feel. Shame on our 'leaders' and may our voices be heard and make compassionate changes.
Mitch Spence
Powerful and compelling, I'ina. Thank you for using your creativity to help us share our pain at this horrible situation.
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you for your supportive words, Mitch. I felt so strongly about this.
Nancy Kane Chapman
A powerful image and statement. So important that we find ways to speak with our art.....to address current happenings in the world!
I'ina Van Lawick replied:
Thank you, Nancy, for your supportive words. I could not wait to get to the computer and create this image. Such trauma for those children, everywhere, as the "cage" can also be a metaphor for circumstances.
