Another experiment with tutorial from Transformers Group, using Stamp Tool and other digital approaches to create this work.
The photo itself - I had been dying to capture this egret with my camera, everyone else had seen it, then, unexpectedly, it glided in just over my shoulder, too fast for me to get my camera ready to snap it in full flight, but the resulting photographs as it waded about and foraged were very rewarding. It is in full plumage, but unfortunately the lone egret at the refuge at the time. We look for it every year.
About I'ina Van Lawick
i'ina Van Lawick My love has always been Nature. Photography started for me when my grandmother gave me an ancient Kodak Box Camera when I was 11 years old. In Art School Photography was an important elective for me besides my Major in Metalsmithing. Now that Carpal Tunnel to both wrists nixed my ability to work with metal I have taken up photography again after being introduced to the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge near Olympia, WA; and consequently, digital photography. What a find. Not only do I now enjoy pursuing my love for nature photography, but I am also enjoying my work as a Volunteer in the Refuge's Environmental Education Program for our schools, and keeping the Refuge's photo files supplied with nature shots for their...
