Description
Still there is beauty in the fallen maple tree mirrored by its reflection on the marsh, surrounded by cattails and elegant grasses.
Many waterbirds live here, those migrating before winter sets in and the permanent residents. And mammals that live on the water's edge, such as otters, beaver, muskrats, mink, and weasels. Even the raccoons will swim across to a Canada Goose's nest for a succulent egg.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt about this image fitting that bill. Do consider entry in a juried exhibition. CONGRATULATIONS!

Thank you, Mona. I know what you mean. Nature is so full of mysterious energy, and so creative and surprising.
