Wonderful image! I’m fascinated by the Native American nations and cultures. Here we have Weyotts, Karuks, Yuroks, and Hupas. F

I'ina Van Lawick replied:

Thank you, Mark. I have heard of those tribes. I have done a lot of ceremonies with the Lakota. Great teachings about honoring our part in relation to the whole, and our responsibility to walk in love and beauty.

I'ina Van Lawick replied:

Thanks so much, Johanna. Yes, I was so excited when I saw those dots of light reflected on her face through the openings in her hat. A special moment.

In Art School Photography was an important elective for me besides my Major in Metalsmithing. Now that Carpal Tunnel to both wrists nixed my ability to work with metal I have taken up photography again after being introduced to the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge near Olympia, WA; and consequently, digital photography. What a find. Not only do I now enjoy pursuing my love for nature photography, but I am also enjoying my work as a Volunteer in the Refuge's Environmental Education Program for our schools, and keeping the Refuge's photo files supplied with nature shots for their...
