Artist's Description
This immature Bald Eagle surprised us visitors by landing in a branch in the pond at the wildlife refuge, and then deciding to take a bath. She was there for at least 20 minutes enjoying it all, completely oblivious to us watchers. Then she flew off, still a bit weighted down with water. Landing in a nearby tree to open her wings and bask in the sun.
Digitally enhanced photograph.
