Description
From the boardwalk I often surprise an American Bittern, the sound of its sudden flight giving me notice of its presence.
This one flew into the cattail reeds across the marsh and stayed there long enough to be photographed.
Its camouflage colors are amazingly adapted to its environment, and I often marvel at Nature the synchronicity between animals and habitat.
This photograph has been digitally enhanced to bring out the elegance of bird and environment.
