Description
The closest I could come because of this chipmunk's coloring is the Red-tailed Chipmunk in my "Mammals of Washington and Oregon", book by Tamara Eder.
Though, according to this book, they live in higher regions in NE WA, obviously this one's family must have traveled.
This is the first chipmunk I have seen since living here in WA. We were all watching the Great Horned Owlets on the rim of their nest when we spotted this gorgeous little mammal creeping up the Salmonberry cane to breakfast on its beautiful blossom.

What a beautiful image, I'ina, so very sweet. He looks similar to our eastern chipmunks but I don't believe they have the striped tail, in any case he's adorable - l/f
