Description
A small Grebe, this Pied-billed Grebe often visits the wetlands at our National Wildlife Refuge. A great little diver, it is often hard to tell where it will come back to the surface.
Eating feathers is thought to pad the bird's stomach against the sharp fish bones, and as this slows down the digestive process the bones will dissolve slowly.
